Borders, History, and the Asian Diaspora: My Family’s Journey

this is my senior year thesis that i wrote about my grandparents. i wrote it because i wanted to place their lives in the context of historical events and forces, not to marginalize them and make them seem small but to expand them. i also wrote it for a really selfish reason — i thought a lot at that time about what would happen to me when they die. writing this was my way to deal with the huge sadness i felt when i thought of my life without them in it. is that cheesy and kind of sappy? probably, but oh well. i don’t know if i did them justice. i hope i did.
